Dr. Parra

Our primary dentist, Dr. Parra, is known for her personalized approach to care, collaborating closely with parents to develop tailored treatment plans and creating a comfortable environment for young patients. She is board-certified by both the CDCA and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

In addition to completing her doctorate at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and her postgraduate work at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Pediatric Dental Residency Program in New York City, Dr. Parra has continuously pursued professional development through various continuing education courses and experiences in topics such as laser dentistry, pediatric zirconia crowns, and behavior management techniques. These endeavors have equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to stay current with advancements in pediatric dentistry and ensure exceptional care for every patient.

Common Questions

When should kids start visiting the dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends that children begin visiting their primary dental care provider around the time they turn one or when their first tooth grows in, whichever happens first.

Children as young as seven years old can be scheduled for an orthodontic consultation. While this might seem young, it allows our team to plan for the future and tends to open up more treatment options for us to utilize.

Please get in touch with our team and let us know as soon as possible. We will want to provide a prompt solution for you to keep your orthodontic treatment on track.

Our wide range of amenities, including our cozy pillows and blankets, TVs in every treatment room, and children’s play area are designed to make your family’s appointments as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We also offer nitrous oxide sedation for patients who struggle with dental anxiety.

Dental impressions are used to make restorations like dental crowns and custom oral appliances like clear aligners. Our team uses an iTero® scanner to create digital dental impressions—no goopy dental putty required!

High Point Dentistry Kids and Braces offers same-day emergency dental visits for patients who need urgent attention. To schedule an emergency appointment, please give us a call at 512-448-9669.

Some of our staff speak Spanish, and we would be happy to work with your family in whichever language you are more comfortable with.

During your routine visits, our team will assess the state of your wisdom teeth and provide a recommendation for when or if we believe they should be extracted. We offer in-house wisdom teeth procedures, so you can schedule your treatment with our friendly team in our comfortable office.

We are located just off East Slaughter Lane in South Austin. Our office is also very close to Blazier Middle School, Blazier Elementary, Perez Elementary, Palm Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, and Newton Collin Elementary, which helps make school-day appointments a breeze!
